Ok. So I know it has been awhile since my last post. July was very busy with family, family reunion and more family. Which is a good thing. So I thought I would do a tutorial. This is very easy. I promise.
So here goes. This is a portable ironing table that is made out of a TV tray. Go to Target or another store and buy one or maybe you already have one. The one at Target is a little bit bigger, but not by much. Also you will need Insul-Bright, staple gun, and your choice of fabric. A fat quarter will work.
As you can see after much use and an iron that was leaking,it was time to recover. So this is the before picture. Not very cute. So let's make it cuter.
I took off the old cover. I had used a very cheap ironing board cover. Use a flat head screwdriver to help take out the staples. Before you recover or put a new cover on, you can paint the legs, or leave plain.
Here is what the Insul-Bright looks like. You get it at JoAnns. Some quilt stores might even have some. Don't know why the picture is upside down. Sorry.
Here I'm stapling on a new piece of Insul-Bright, then I put a scrap piece of thin batting on. You don't have to put on the batting.
Next choose your fabric, and staple that on.
Your done! As you see, I have two. My friend, Lisa, gave me the one on the right for my birthday.
Seriously, this is the easiest project ever. Take to a quilt retreat, or to a friends house to do some
sewing. It makes a great gift for your sewing and quilting friends. Keep by your sewing machine
if you are doing a lot of quilting and you need to quickly iron a seam.
I hope I gave you an idea for gifts. Christmas is coming! (Did I just say that?)
Please indulge me for a minute. This is Cade. My youngest grandson. I could just kiss his face off.
